What I Love About Logan:

  • Cool Summers. I hate that it takes so long for summer to get here, but I love how nice it is when it does come.
  • Mountains. I love how cool the mountains look with either a sunset or sunrise. They are beautiful!
  • Fall Colors. Logan is amazing in the fall!
  • Walking. I love being able to walk to class and work. Stacey and I went on a walk Sunday afternoon and it was so nice! Walking is so good for you, physically and mentally, I love being able to walk around and just think.
  • The Library. Yes, this is my place of employment and my income, but I just love the atmosphere of the library here. I always see people I know and everyone is just so studious. Great feeling.
  • Fun, Fit Forever Classes. I know I talk about this way too much, but I love working out with Sarah and the Debster. I am honestly happy with my routine and I love working out. Yesterday, I ran for the first time since spring break and did a mile in 8:40. So proud of it! ha but my goal is to get it under 8 by the end of the semester. I think it is pretty reasonable.
  • USU!!! I love Utah State! Lately I've been thinking a lot about getting an MBA and also reflecting back on why I came here. I think if I could go back, I would probably go somewhere else. (Don't hate me for saying this, but SLC and the Utes does have its appeal....so does UW and the Huskies). I wish Logan was bigger, I want to live in a real city. But I know that there isn't any other school like USU. There is so much pride and tradition here. Everyone is an Aggie and is bonded together. I can handle small-town Logan because I belong here and feel like I am somebody here. USU is great and I am proud to be an Aggie!
  • The Blue "A". I love looking up to campus and seeing that the "A" is lit up blue. It just makes me happy.
  • People on Bikes. If I owned a bike, and didn't live at the bottom of the Hill of Death, I would totally ride my bike all over campus. I do hate it when bikers think they are cooler than pedestrians or cars and act like they own the sidewalk or street... but I get so jealous when I see someone on a retro-old-school bike. I think they are sweet.
  • Yesterday. My absolute, favorite day of the semester took place yesterday. The day that next semesters classes come online for viewing. I had my schedule put together in less than a half hour and it made me soooo happy! I will only have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I will go from 9-4:15. I'm totally ok with it and ready for this semester to end!

Epic Weekend!

I was kind of in a rut and super anti-social last week. So I decided that my weekend was going to be great! Friday I had a pretty good time at work and then I actually went to both of my classes. That's right, I sat through an entire marketing class...it was monumental! Then Karen and I went out for Jamba and decided we wanted to go to the hot springs. The amazing Mr. Banks drove Jules, K-dawg, and I out to Crystal Hot Springs and we met up with Karen and her clan. Even though it was super crowded, it was still worth it. After that, Jules and I decided to hit up the White Out Party at the Pike house. It was LEGIT! Definitely one of the best dance parties I've been to in a long time. Saturday at the last possible moment, we decided to go down to Spanish Fork with Banks, Larry, and Megan to Hare Krishna it up! We were in the middle of the chalk cloud....and I had a legit panic attack. Yes, I started to freak out and honestly thought I was going to die. So I turned to Jules and said, "I've got to get out of here." Then I turned to Banks and said, "Get me out of here." So we booked it for the edge of the crowd and people split when Banks told them I was asthmatic (I'm not). Overall, it was definitely an experience. Sunday we had the best linger longer ever. Roast and potatoes with carrots. So good! Then we had a birthday party for Banks at waffle night. Larry made raspberry jello and I ate way too much of it. Other than that, we have just been sitting around the apartment watching a lot of friends. I am very satisfied with my weekend. Very satisfied.

Have You Ever Wondered...

...what life would be like if you knew what you were supposed to do?

Like where you should go to school or whether or not you should get a masters...
...if serving a mission is something you should consider doing....
...who you should marry and whether or not you already know them...
...when and where you should be looking for that eternal companion...
...if the career you think you want is really what's best for you...

Life is a mystery and learning from trial and error is the best way to discover who you really are.
So I guess life wouldn't be the great miracle that it is if everything were known.
But honestly...
there are some days I really wish I just knew!

What I Have Learned So Far This Week...

  1. It probably isn't very smart to get four immunizations at one time and then go to muscle mix. I like being able to lift my arms.
  2. There are mild side effects from getting vaccines such as headache, nausea, and a low fever. Yep, those definitely kicked in last night and this morning I barely ate four spoonfuls of cereal before I almost threw up. I am a wimp and my head hurts.
  3. I can totally BS my way through my marketing class. I didn't go to class at all the week before spring break, took a quiz on Monday, and did surprisingly well. I almost have my A in that class!
  4. It is probably going to be best for me to take corporate finance this summer. Hate my life for three weeks....or for a full semester?
  5. It does snow in March.
  6. I discovered a new blog. It's called What I Wore Today. This girl actually posts pictures of her outfits everyday and they are sooooo cute!
  7. Everyone is getting engaged! It's spring fever or something like that. Two of my crushes from last year made their engagements facebook official yesterday, it's an epidemic!

I LOVE March Madness!

My Spring Break!

Spring Break 2010, I:
  • stayed with Car in Boise for a night
  • saw Alice in Wonderland with Ben
  • took Kimmi and Hannah to Baby Graves.
  • dyed Kimmi's hair
  • played tons of Skip-Bo
  • made two skirts and altered a dress
  • bought business clothes for South America
  • hot-tubbed with Amanda and Steph
  • made rainbow cupcakes
  • went to Steve's baseball game
  • ran everyday
  • watched every single one of the opening round day 1 games
  • crossed off one event from my "to-do-list-before-I-die" .... March Madness in Spokane!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

My mom got this cute idea out of a magazine. We split up white cake batter and used food coloring to make the colors of the rainbow. Then we layered them to make these awesome cupcakes!

Sweaters!

I can't decide whether or not I love this. I'm thinking I am gonna try to find a thrift-shop sweater and attempt to put the bows on it. I think it would be better without the top bow. We shall see! I am on a clothes making frenzy and it's all I can think about, I am going crazy I guess!

Yesterday...

I honestly thought yesterday was Thursday. I went to my regular Wednesday classes and worked my regular Wednesday shifts, but for some reason I kept talking about how excited I was to go home and how I had so much packing to do before tomorrow (aka Thursday which I thought was Friday). Disappointment.... I still have another day to go and twice as much to do. This week is going by way too slow. Hello Spring Break '10!

P.S. I failed my top goal of the week... I didn't get up and shower yesterday morning...epic fail!

Monday, March 8, 2010

Goals for the Week:

  • Finish my business law essay
  • Write PR paper
  • Clean my room and take home anything I don't need/use
  • Write my missionaries
  • Get ahead on my interior design project
  • Meet with my adviser to officially pass/fail interior design
  • Be more optimistic/happy about everything
  • Clean out the fridge/use up all of my food
  • Get some sleep
  • Call an old friend just to catch up on life
  • Shower every morning and actually get ready for the day
  • Live in the Moment!

One More Week

....And I will be driving Leo the tiny black car home.
Rumor has it that the Tri got up to an amazing 63 degrees this week,
I am hoping that it stays up there at least a couple days into my trip.
I am ready for some warmth! I am working on road trip play-list numero dos
and I am so excited to blast it all the way home. Call me crazy but I actually
semi-enjoy the 8 1/2 hours by myself, good quality me time!

Thoughts of the Day...

1) I spent 2 1/2 hours worth of class time thinking about and designing skirts. Looks like I have my spring break planned out for me.
2) I want it to rain and I want to go puddle jumping!3) I've been thinking about deleting my facebook, but I'm not sure if I can do it and last.
4) Muscle mix is my new favorite workout class.
5) I'm considering taking an intro to sewing class next semester. Anyone interested?
